Description
A quick, creamy, protein-packed chocolate mousse made with just cottage cheese and chocolate. It’s the perfect healthy dessert that’s ready in 5 minutes!
Ingredients
1 cup full-fat cottage cheese
½ cup melted dark chocolate OR 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
Optional Add-ins:
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon espresso powder
1 tablespoon peanut butter or almond butter
A pinch of sea salt
Instructions
Melt the chocolate if using solid form, in the microwave or over a double boiler.
Add cottage cheese and melted chocolate (or cocoa + sweetener) to a high-speed blender or food processor.
Blend for 30–45 seconds, scraping the sides if needed, until smooth and mousse-like.
Taste and adjust sweetness or flavor (add maple syrup, vanilla, etc., if desired).
For best texture, refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
Serve in dessert jars or bowls and top with berries, nuts, or coconut flakes.
Notes
Use full-fat, small-curd cottage cheese for the creamiest results.
If the mousse is too thick, add a splash of almond or oat milk.
If using cocoa powder instead of melted chocolate, sweetening is recommended.
Mousse thickens beautifully after chilling.
