Description

A quick, creamy, protein-packed chocolate mousse made with just cottage cheese and chocolate. It’s the perfect healthy dessert that’s ready in 5 minutes!


Ingredients

Scale

1 cup full-fat cottage cheese

½ cup melted dark chocolate OR 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Optional Add-ins:

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon espresso powder

1 tablespoon peanut butter or almond butter

A pinch of sea salt


Instructions

  • Melt the chocolate if using solid form, in the microwave or over a double boiler.

  • Add cottage cheese and melted chocolate (or cocoa + sweetener) to a high-speed blender or food processor.

  • Blend for 30–45 seconds, scraping the sides if needed, until smooth and mousse-like.

  • Taste and adjust sweetness or flavor (add maple syrup, vanilla, etc., if desired).

  • For best texture, refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.

 

  • Serve in dessert jars or bowls and top with berries, nuts, or coconut flakes.

Notes

Use full-fat, small-curd cottage cheese for the creamiest results.

If the mousse is too thick, add a splash of almond or oat milk.

If using cocoa powder instead of melted chocolate, sweetening is recommended.

Mousse thickens beautifully after chilling.
