  • Author: Emily Hart
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 12-15 cookies 1x

Description

This easy peanut butter cookie dough recipe is a perfect balance of rich peanut butter, sweet sugar, and buttery goodness. It’s great for making chewy cookies or enjoying raw as a treat. In just a few steps, you’ll have delicious dough ready for baking or snacking!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240g) peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (110g) brown sugar
  • 1 ½ cups (180g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
  • ¼ tsp (1g) salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup (115g) butter, softened
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the peanut butter and egg to the mixture and blend well.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • For a classic look, scoop the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Press each ball with a fork to create a crisscross pattern.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a softer dough, you can chill it in the fridge for 30 minutes before baking.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
  • You can freeze the dough for up to 3 months. Just scoop the dough onto a baking sheet, freeze it, and then transfer it to a freezer bag.
