Description

This Peanut Butter Banana Pie is a sweet and creamy dessert that combines the rich taste of peanut butter with the sweetness of ripe bananas. It’s easy to make and perfect for any occasion, with a smooth filling, fresh bananas, and a light whipped cream topping.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Peanut Butter Filling:

  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup heavy cream

For the Banana Layer:

  • 34 ripe bananas, sliced

For the Pie Crust:

  • 1 pre-baked graham cracker or cookie crust (store-bought or homemade)

For the Whipped Cream Topping:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pie Crust: If using a store-bought crust, place it in the fridge. If you’re making your own, bake it according to the instructions and allow it to cool completely.

  • Make the Peanut Butter Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat together the smooth peanut butter, powdered sugar, and softened cream cheese. Add the heavy cream and continue to beat until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.

  • Layer the Bananas: Slice 3-4 bananas into thin, even rounds. Layer the banana slices evenly at the bottom of the cooled pie crust.

  • Assemble the Pie: Spoon the peanut butter filling over the banana layer, spreading it evenly to cover the bananas completely.

  • Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours to allow it to set. Meanwhile, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Spread the whipped cream evenly over the top of the pie.

  • Serve: Slice the pie and enjoy! Serve chilled.

Notes

  • Banana Freshness: Toss the banana slices with a little lemon juice to prevent them from browning if you’re preparing the pie ahead of time.
  • Texture Tip: Be sure to whip the peanut butter filling until it’s light and fluffy for the best texture.
  • Crust Alternatives: You can swap the graham cracker crust for a chocolate cookie crust or a gluten-free crust depending on your preferences.
  • Make-Ahead: You can make this pie a day ahead and refrigerate it overnight for an even better set filling.
