Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped for garnish)
- Optional: Fresh lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the shrimp: While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Alfredo sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese, Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes, until it thickens slightly.
Notes
- Spice Level: Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning based on your spice tolerance. Add extra for more heat.
- Creaminess: For an extra creamy sauce, you can add more heavy cream or a bit of cream cheese.
- Protein Swap: If you prefer, chicken or sausage can replace shrimp in this recipe.
- Vegetarian Option: Omit the shrimp and add vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms for a vegetarian version.
