Whether you’re serving it for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion, this dish is sure to impress. Pair it with a fresh salad or garlic bread for the ultimate meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped for garnish)
  • Optional: Fresh lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  • Prepare the shrimp: While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Alfredo sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese, Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes, until it thickens slightly.

Notes

  • Spice Level: Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning based on your spice tolerance. Add extra for more heat.
  • Creaminess: For an extra creamy sauce, you can add more heavy cream or a bit of cream cheese.
  • Protein Swap: If you prefer, chicken or sausage can replace shrimp in this recipe.
  • Vegetarian Option: Omit the shrimp and add vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms for a vegetarian version.
