Ingredients

  • Ripe Bananas: 3 medium mashed
  • All-Purpose Flour: 2 cups
  • Granulated Sugar: 3/4 cup
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Unsalted Butter: 1/2 cup melted
  • Baking Soda: 1 teaspoon
  • Baking Powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Chocolate Chips: 1 cup

Method

Preheat and Prepare:
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
Mash the Bananas:
  1. Peel and place 3 medium, very ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mash them with a fork until mostly smooth with a few small lumps.
Mix Wet Ingredients:
  1. Add 2 large eggs, 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the mashed bananas.
  2. Whisk until well combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients:
  1. In a separate bowl, sift together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 3/4 cup granulated sugar.
  2. Stir the dry ingredients until evenly mixed.
Combine Mixtures:
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just incorporated.
  2. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread light and tender.
Fold in Chocolate Chips:
  1. Gently fold 1 cup chocolate chips into the batter, ensuring even distribution without deflating the mixture.
Bake:
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  2. Bake for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
