Preheat & Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
Melt Butter: In a large, oven-safe pot, melt the butter over low heat.
Mix Sugar: Stir in the granulated sugar with the melted butter, then remove the pot from heat.
Add Eggs & Vanilla: Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients: Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir gently until just combined; avoid overmixing for the best texture.
Optional Add-Ins: Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
Bake: Pour the batter into your prepared pot or baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool & Serve: Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.
